ATF Gun Runner Scandal and Occam’s Razor…

Instapundit has been doing some great work on this, with terrific links going out nearly daily, but I wonder if we are all being led away from the true goal of Gun Runner? Here is Glenn’s and other’s take on the scandal…

MORE ON THAT ATF GUNRUNNING SCANDAL: “Imagine the DEA telling pharmacists to illegally sell oxycontin to known drug dealers or they would be shut down. Then imagine the DEA using the fact that more oxycontin was on the street (and hundreds of overdose deaths) as a pretext for making it harder for patients to get prescribed narcotics. This is essentially what happened with the ATF and Project Gunwalker.”  Instapundit » Blog Archive » MORE ON THAT ATF GUNRUNNING SCANDAL: “Imagine the DEA telling pharmacists to illegally sell oxycont…

No doubt that the theory that the Administration is selling weapons to Mexico in order to further the Democrats Anti Gun agenda has a certain appeal for those NRA types out there.  But perhaps we should apply Occam’s Razor to the problem?

Maybe the Administration just wants to increase chaos.

After all the administration was instrumental in fomenting the Arab “Spring” which is in the process of bringing Muslim fundamentalists to power all through the Middle East, why not work hard at creating chaos in Mexico? We must never forget that out of chaos the left hopes to spring their “revolutions”. A leftist truism is “Never let a good crisis go to waste” I suspect the unspoken part of that leftist truism is; if it isn’t a “good” enough of a crisis, work to improve it.

The Leftist Big Mouths Writing Checks Their Asses Cannot Cash! Or How The Left Chased The Earners, Screaming War, Until We Caught Them!

Corpulent gasbag Michael Moore declares war on the earners on MSNBC’s “Rachel Maddow Show”. Really…no shit? The contingency who think guns are evil are declaring war on the contingency who don’t? Does he imagine that he lives in Cuba where the opposition is not armed, pissed off and ready to end this 100 argument with the left? Did he miss the numbers of folks we have put out in the street? Does he really want to go up against a group of people who are so well disciplined that we can show up in our capital with upwards of a million people upset enough to take off of jobs, put lives on hold and pay for a trip to DC to protest and not destroy the place. Indeed we policed our own garbage and DC looked better after we left, that is discipline that is unknown to the left. Mock us at your peril…make war on us if you are suicidal.

“This is war,” Michael Moore declared last night on MSNBC’s “Rachel Maddow Show.” The porcine propagandist referred to the Wisconsin Senate’s 18-1 vote earlier in the evening in favor of legislation, supported by Gov. Scott Walker, that would strip politicians of the power to reward government employee unions for their political support by committing taxpayer money to their members’ extravagant pensions and other fringe benefits.‘This Is War’ – WSJ.com

The ugliest item of that exhibition in Wisconsin was the actions of the police. Now we know that it is possible for an entire police department to be corrupted by their union into not enforcing the law. That should worry most of you.

The Green Bay Press Gazette:
MADISON — Hundreds of off-duty police officers and deputies joined protests today against Gov. Scott Walker’s budget repair bill that would strip most collective bargaining powers from about 170,000 public employees. Police, state troopers and firefighters are exempt from Walker’s proposal, but even as some marched on the downtown Capitol Square, hundreds of other officers from around the state provided security. They came equipped with riot gear, including helmets and batons, they said, but didn’t expect trouble.

So perhaps the left is counting on the police to be guys who back up the lefts threats?

Ben Smith Covering Obama’s Ass. Must be crowded down there these days. Inside the nastiest ’08 rumors -Politico

Ben Smith apparently has not heard of You Tube…

A third popular Obama "tip" has to do with Raila Odinga, the Kenyan prime minister and former opposition leader who claimed that Obama was a distant cousin.

They come from the same tribe…but that really isn’t important.

The reports surfaced after a political crisis in Kenya in which many international observers believed the vote was stolen from Odinga. As the international community rallied behind the opposition, Obama spoke to Odinga briefly on the telephone.

If Ben Smith is attempting to state that this is the only communication that Obama has had with Odinga then let me introduce Ben Smith to You Tube.

Gee Ben it looks like Odinga and “The Lightworker” are a bit closer than a mere phone call. Looks like they are standing right next to each other. Looks like "The Lightworker” is campaigning for Odinga.

The media has ignored stories about the relationship between the two men because there’s no real evidence that one exists.

Well yea except for the video you see a few lines above this sentence, yea except for that, there is no evidence.

There is evidence that Obama toasted a PLO terrorist in the company of two domestic terrorists but the Los Angeles Times won’t release the tape. So Ben your assertion that the press ignores stories because they don’t exist rings a bit hollow. Or do you not consider the Los Angeles Times the press? If not welcome to the club.

But the story, which comes in many varieties, suggests that Obama campaigned for Odinga and funneled money to his campaign and that they’re close allies.

Well gee I am not a trained Elite Press Guy like Ben Smith so I cannot be sure but it sure likes that video depicts a campaign. And that sure looks like “The Lightworker” in that video is campaigning for Odinga.

In a particularly resonant twist, the story also subjects Odinga to the same sort of rumor that afflicts Obama: that despite Odinga’s professed Christian faith (the Kenyan prime minister is an Anglican), the two men are conspiring to institute Muslim law…in Kenya. Cover this! Inside the nastiest ’08 rumors – Ben Smith – Politico.com

Washington Times has a bit about this that maybe a “professional” like Ben Smith has not seen.

Mr. Odinga had the backing of Kenya’s Muslim community heading into the election. For months he denied any ties to Muslim leaders, but fell silent when Sheik Abdullahi Abdi, chairman of the National Muslim Leaders Forum, appeared on Kenya television displaying a memorandum of understanding signed on Aug. 29, 2007, by Mr. Odinga and the Muslim leader. Mr. Odinga then denied his denials.

Oops…Wrong again Ben.

The details of the MOU were shocking. In return for Muslim backing, Mr. Odinga promised to impose a number of measures favored by Muslims if he were elected president. Among these were recognition of "Islam as the only true religion," Islamic leaders would have an "oversight role to monitor activities of ALL other religions [emphasis in original]," installation of Shariah courts in every jurisdiction, a ban on Christian preaching, replacement of the police commissioner who "allowed himself to be used by heathens and Zionists," adoption of a women’s dress code, and bans on alcohol and pork.

Gee that sounds like a bad idea…maybe he wasn’t serious?

This was not Mr. Odinga’s first brush with notoriety. Like his father, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga, the main opposition leader in the 1960s and 1970s, Raila Odinga is a Marxist He graduated from East Germany’s Magdeburg University in 1970 on a scholarship provided by the East German government. He named his oldest son after Fidel Castro.

Hey no wonder Obama and Odinga got along so royally! Obama loves hanging around with Marxists. Course if Odinga is a Marxist then he most likely uses his Christianity as a cover for his radicalism…hey that’s just like Obama! From Obama’s tome Dreams of My Father…

"To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully," the Democratic presidential candidate wrote in his memoir, "Dreams From My Father." "The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists."

And Obama’s grandfather was quite happy to introduce young Obama to Frank Davis ( just FRANK in Deams of…) who was a noted communist. Obama waxed poetically about dear old Frank.

Raila Odinga was implicated in the bloody coup attempt in 1982 against then-President Daniel Arap Moi, a close ally of the United States. Kenya has been one of the most stable democracies in Africa since the 1960s. The ethnic cleansing earlier this year was the worst violence in Kenya since that 1982 coup attempt.

Change you can believe in! Btw Odinga’s campaign was centered around CHANGE! Hey where have we heard that before?

Mr. Odinga spent eight years in prison. At the time, he denied guilt but later detailed he was a coup leader in his 2006 biography. Statue of limitations precluded further prosecution when the biography appeared. Initially, Mr. Odinga was not the favored opposition candidate to stand in the 2007 election against President Mwai Kibaki, who was seeking his second term. However, he received a tremendous boost when Sen. Barack Obama arrived in Kenya in August 2006 to campaign on his behalf. Mr. Obama denies that supporting Mr. Odinga was the intention of his trip, but his actions and local media reports tell otherwise.

Well gee Ben I guess your debunking of the Odinga claim was a bunch of that stuff “The Lightworker” is shoveling…

Obama Begins Counterattack By Shooting Himself in the Foot…err oops Obama Loses Cool Attacks Former POW for Not Being Able to Reach Keyboard Due to Injuries Suffered When Tortured…hmm Sounds Like a Bad Idea.

Hey besides all the valid reasons to forget Obama, like his associations with unrepentant terrorists and black liberation crazy preachers, the plain fact that he cannot keep his cool speaks to his not being ready for anything more than being elected to dog catcher.

The attack was direct, accusing McCain of being out of touch after 26 years in Washington. Using jaunty, humorous music, a picture of a younger McCain with shaggy hair and the hint of sideburns, and images of massive, antiquated cellphones and a Rubik’s Cube, the ad is the clearest evocation yet of McCain’s age. The Republican turned 72 late last month.

That strategy should work wonders with Florida, Pennsylvania and Ohio since there are NO old folks there.

“He admits he still doesn’t know how to use a computer, can’t send e-mail. Still doesn’t understand the economy, and favors $200 billion in new tax cuts for corporations, but almost nothing for the middle class. . . . After one president who was out of touch,” it concludes, “we just can’t afford more of the same.” The Obama campaign said the ad would be aired nationally on cable and on other outlets in swing states. Obama Campaign Begins Counterattack – washingtonpost.com

Kinda tough to send email if your arms and fingers were broken so badly that you cannot reach the keyboard. From the Boston Globe…

The outrage comes from inside: McCain’s severe war injuries prevent him from combing his hair, typing on a keyboard, or tying his shoes. Friends marvel at McCain’s encyclopedic knowledge of sports. He’s an avid fan – Ted Williams is his hero – but he can’t raise his arm above his shoulder to throw a baseball.

And if you are going to attack someone for being too old and broken to know how to use the Internet it might help to at least be goddamn RIGHT about his NOT using the Internet. From a Forbes article in 2000, when Obama was busy admitting in his loss to a former Black Panther that there wasn’t much difference between them, in this article we find out that McCain was using the Internet in innovative ways.

McCain himself was convinced early on that the Internet had to play a critical role in the campaign. Time and again it allowed him to leverage his money and his organization. “In the Virginia primary,” McCain told me, “we needed a lot of petitions signed to get on the ballot. We had the form available to download off the Internet and got 17,000 signatures with very little trouble.”

farther down:

The campaign’s innovative use of the Internet could turn out to be the most important single factor of this year’s election. And woe unto the future candidate who doesn’t study the McCain 2000 Internet campaign strategy carefully. “The Web was only an electronic billboard in the last two elections,” Max Fose says, “but this is the first time anyone ran a truly interactive campaign.” It certainly will not be the last.

If Obama is this incompetent running a campaign then exactly how is it that his combination of far left beliefs and sheer incompetence will be anything but a huge disaster for the country? Hat tip HOTAIR.

If you are a liar you tend to view others as liars…same same with thief. If you are a thief you tend to view others as thieves!

Tigerhawk explains the correct way to look at energy and our use of it. I only want to add that if you are a liar you tend to view everyone else as liars. If you are a thief you tend to view others as thieves. Since the left makes it’s living as thieves of the labor of others it colors their entire world view. We will never convince them that there might be other explanations for wealth. They simply cannot conceive that wealth is created by working for it, it is so much easier to steal it. You can spot them in schools because they are the ones cheating.

But most peoples of the world (including American leftists) do not understand this — which is why they do not invent anything important — and instead view American wealth as if it were looted, rather than created. Hey, if I thought America was rich from theft rather than creativity, I’d feel guilty too.  TigerHawk
